How to use vouchers to drum up business
Vouchers are a great way to drum up new business. They can help you reach new customers, give them an incentive to try your service or product, and also reengage old customers who may have taken their business elsewhere. A voucher allows you to offer something for free or at a reduced price and will make your business stand out from your competitors.
Limit the Number of Vouchers
Limiting the number of vouchers in promotional material creates demand and scarcity for the prospective customer to take action. An example message would be to say:
“Hi Jim, we have a special going for $50 Off your service, I have 10 vouchers to give out, would you like me to stick one aside for you or someone you know?”
This instantly creates scarcity while also making the offer. At the end of the voucher offer, we also ask for a referral that they may know. They may respond, “Yes can I get 2 of them one for me and one for my wife.”
You can also say things like:
- “We only have 10 extra vouchers.”
- “First come first serve”
- “I put some aside for new customers so I can offer it to help solve their problem”
Using the voucher as a way to show exclusivity is key to making it not sound “salesy” or cheesy.
Use Vouchers To Gain New Customers
Give your customer service reps the ability to offer “new customer vouchers” for $50 off new customer services. For people that are price conscious, this is a great way to get over this objection and build trust between the csr and the customer.
At the end of the discussion if the customer wants to get other pricing options, have the csr offer a $50 coupon if that would help. You can email it over to them so if they make their decision, they can use this discount code. This is a great way to get additional information to follow up with the lead and also a good way to get more leads.
You can also offer voucher codes as an incentive for referring new customers to your business. This can be done through social media or by emailing friends, family, and colleagues. You could even offer a discount on the first order made by the friend who signs up with your company after clicking on your special link.
Create You Promotional Offer Voucher
You could use vouchers to offer discounts for new customers or first-time visitors. You could also offer them as part of an event promotion (e.g., “buy one get one free”). This might attract people who wouldn’t normally have purchased from you and encourage them to try out your products or services!
In addition, if you’re running a specific promotion that has an expiration date then it may be worth including in the voucher itself so that customers are aware ahead of time when their discount will end.
Send out a text or email with offer
Once you have your offer dialed in, make sure everyone on the team knows about it, then choose how you want to distribute the offer. Email campaigns are a great place to start, most CRM’s have an email function that allows you to send out a mass email to your database.
You can also send out a text with your voucher offer to past customers and prospects in your customer database. If you’re not sure how to get the most bang for your buck, it’s best to test out different offers on a subset of customers and see which ones work best. Most people will respond better if they feel like they’re getting something valuable for their money—so offer them something that shows you appreciate their loyalty by offering an exclusive deal.
It’s also important not to spam people with similar deals because that will also turn them off from future offers. We recommend a maximum of a quarterly voucher or offer.
